Want to participate in our Intake Design Challenge? Although we have not been meeting in person, our business team has been meeting virtually to create an online workshop as a live stream. This is a fun opportunity to learn about the design process and basic science and engineering concepts. If you didn’t get a chance to watch our 2702 Rebels
In addition to recognizing the team’s Dean’s List and Chairman’s award wins; an article published by the North Bay Nugget also mentioned the great work that Team 1305 has been doing to help others during these difficult times. Team members have been making masks and headbands for front line workers and have also been working with a local emergency doctor
Another week of 3D printing by the W.A.F.F.L.E.S. ! This week we did some more N95 mask shells in waffle yellow to go out to local healthcare workers. This week’s count makes it over 50 masks total, not to mention the 45 filters, 116 ear savers, and 121 visor headbands from previous weeks! #FIRSTFFC
Team 4152 is a force for change! They’ve teamed up with medical students to design and make 2000 face shields to donate to organizations in their community to help reduce the spread of COVID-19!
Team 7480 gave thanks to all the healthcare and other essential staff working hard to protect their community by sending them some 3D printed visor bands made at their shop.
Team 781, the Kinetic Knights, with support from their sponsors, purchased 60 tablets and donated them to four different senior homes in their community. The tablets will enable residents to communicate with their families via Facetime (Skype) while the homes are in lock-down due to COVID-19.

We are challenging all teams to begin cleaning up and gathering their buttons to be collected by 772 next year. Contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org so we can
Team 2708, Lake Effect Robotics are 3D printing equipment to help first responders in the pandemic. Let them know if you have a 3D printer that could help out! https://www.facebook.com/LakeEffectRobotics/
FIRST Team 1305 was approaced by local medical doctors to build a UV Sterilizer Cart to sterlize personal items (ie. phones/keys) and N95 & surgical masks that are currently being reused. We built 2 prototypes that are currently at North Bay General Hospital being tested for their effectiveness. Once official results from the hospital are known, we will post them.
Our warriors need to wear face masks almost 16-24 hours a day. As a result they are suffering a great amount of discomfort and pressure on their ears. We are asking anyone that has access to 3D printers if they can make some Surgical Mask Straps for them to make an already overwhelming mission that much more tolerable.
