FIRST LEGO League Explore Team Costs and Grants

Additional Team Grant Criteria

1. This grant cannot be combined with the LEGO Foundation, Class Pack, or School Pack grants
2. To be eligible, teams must be a part of a school, recognized company or community group such as a home school group, library etc.
3. Grants are to be used for the creation of up to FIVE new single FIRST LEGO League Explore teams per school/organization. If your organization runs less than 5 single FLL Explore teams you may apply for more funding until you reach 5 teams after that no additional grants will be approved
4. Teams must commit to the program from a minimum of one year and participate in an official Ontario Festival

Additional School Pack & Class Pack Grant Criteria

1. Click here to sign in with your existing username and password OR to create a new user account. You can then register at team by either updating an existing team profile or by creating a new one.
2. Complete the Youth Protection Plan (YPP) screening process. This video will help guide you through the screening process. Both coaches are required to complete the screening but your “passed” status remains valid for 36 months so coaches who have already been screened within the past 36 months need only accept the updated terms and conditions for YPP.
3. Pay the team registration fees by returning to the Dashboard and selecting “Please review your team for missing payment” from the list of Outstanding Tasks. You will be guided through a series of steps to create, review and place your order using your preferred payment method and can then await notification from FIRST Headquarters that you payment has been processed.
4. Order one or more LEGO WeDo 2.0 Core Sets from B&B Education by contacting Nathalie Laquerre at nathalielb@bb.ca or (416) 616-7472 or from Spectrum by contacting customer service at (800) 668-0600.

2. Order enough LEGO WeDo 2.0 Core Sets to meet your desired student to robot ratio (recommend 4:1 or 7 WeDo 2.0 Core Sets kits for a class of 28) from B&B Education by contacting Nathalie Laquerre at nathalielb@bb.ca or (416) 616-7472 or from Spectrum by contacting customer service at (800) 668-0600.
3. Please retain proof of payment for both the Class Pack and robotics equipment as these will be required for completion of the grant application.

Register and Apply for your Class Pack/School Pack

1. The grant amount is $200 CAD for new and returning teams.
2. Teams can have up to 6 members. If eligible you can fund up to 5 teams, in total

Apply for a new/returning team grant

• Are you looking to bring FIRST LEGO League Explore to your classroom or community for the first time? If so, you may be eligible to receive a Class Pack grant in the amount of $2200 CAD OR
• Are you a teacher who has already run FIRST LEGO League Explore in your classroom or community? If eligible, your school or organization could receive a grant in the amount of $750 CAD

Apply for a new or returning Class Pack Grant

• Are you a bringing FIRST LEGO League Explore to your school for the first time? If eligible, you could receive a School Pack Grant in the amount of $5200 CAD OR
• Are you a school who has already run FIRST LEGO League Explore? If eligible, your school could receive a grant in the amount of $1300 CAD

• Team Registration Fee: $130 CAD ($99 USD) includes
  • 1 Meeting Guide
  • 1 LEGO  Explore Sets
  • 6 Engineering Notebooks
• Shipping for Season Materials from FIRST Headquarters: $25 CAD ($18 USD)
• Robotics Kit (can be reused from year to year):
  • LEGO WeDo 2.0 Core Set: $285 CAD/set (includes taxes)
• Festival Registration Fee: up to $50
• Miscellaneous (i.e., team shirts, project display board, food, supplies, etc.): $60 CAD
