The goal of this event is to provide an engaging interactive online opportunity for young women in STEM and their allies to problem-solve, collaborate on teams, and open minds to new opportunities.
Join us ONLINE on June 6th and 7th for the FIRST Canada STEMathon – Girls and Allies 2020!
Teams of four to five students (from FIRST Robotics Competition or FIRST Tech Challenge programs) will work together to solve a real-world problem (THEME to be announced the day of the event). Enjoy 24 hours of showcasing your STEM skills and teamwork with the FIRST Canada community! Launching at noon on Saturday, June 6th and wrapping up at 1 PM on Sunday, June 7th, the event features a weekend of problem-solving, informative and engaging workshops, and a lot of fun for girls and allies in FIRST! Hosted by Karthik Kanagasabapathy and the FIRST Canada Youth Council, who will facilitate a weekend full of inspiration, project presentations, yoga, and scavenger hunts. The teams will be matched and guided by FIRST Canada mentors and volunteers who will provide insight and tips for participants, and most of all, cheer on their team to new heights! Special guest appearances by Stephanie Thompson (GM), Annika Pint (yoga guru), Erica Rossi (alumni), and notorious PRIZES from Swaggy P. Thank you all for your interest in the STEMathon!
